This backlit ("DuraTrans") project for Mangia La Pasta was quite a challenge for us. The display consists of a triptich of panels, two sides at 4' wide and 5' high and a very large center panel almost 12' wide and 5' high. Each transparency is optically mounted behind a 1/2" thick slab of plexiglass. The large center panel was almost 200 lbs!
![]() We imaged the files on an HP5000 printer using Kodak backlit film , and mounted them to plexi with Drytac Optimount. The plexiglass came to our South Florida Supplier, Piedmont Plastics, via truck from Texas. Piedmont cut the slabs to size, finished the edges, and delivered the goods to us. The client was very pleased with the results, and the backlit wall is the centerpiece of the Mangia La Pasta Restaurant at the food court at Sawgrass Mills.
